If a wedding invitation is addressed to only you and your SO, do you just assume that children are not invited? Is it rude to directly ask the bride if children are welcome?
I have 2 wedding invitations sitting on my table and it doesn't seem like either are having children attend. It's not a big deal, but I'd just like to know for sure. I'm thinking that if the RSVP only says "M/m ____________ will be attending" rather than "Number of guests" then it's a no-kids affair.
Just to add some interest to this post, what do you think about having a wedding reception with no kids? Forget the ceremony - that just gets complicated. =) |

My fingers, yesterday:

The small metal thing I'm holding is a 1967 Land Rover steering swivel oil plug. This may be too much information! |

He was on the computer and I hadn't gotten dressed from the shower yet... so I took a couple of pictures. I think they're kinda funny, in a "He's not paying attention to me" kinda way. (Don't worry, he gives me plenty of attention =])

Tell me about your personal experiences involving the introduction of comfort methods (to induce sleep) other than nursing to babies under a year old.
ETA: To clarify, I mean introducing comfort methods to a child who only accepts nursing. |

My charming, intelligent, funny, sweet little boy will be four years old at the end of April. He's been pooping in the potty since he was 20 months old, and mastered peeing in the potty sometime around three. He seems to have normal bathroom habits - with one exception.
He insists on being completely naked for pooping. No matter where we are - in public or at a friend's house, at the mall, home - he strips off completely to go poop.
Now, at home or at friends' houses this is not an issue. The public restroom scene is where it gets a little complicated - some restrooms I don't even want him to touch, much less go naked in. I've gently suggested leaving his clothes on to poop but he is quite insistent on his preferred practice. This doesn't really cause me that much grief because his poop habits are fairly predictable. Still - is this something I need to address in a more vigorous way? Can I simply allow him to work through this at his own pace? |

I was up on the roof yesterday, and I had this shot all lined up... and then I thought, you know what, let's get a teensy bit of angle on this bitch, just enough so that it'll annoy people, and they'll wonder whether the wonkiness was a philosophical statement, or just incompetence on my part. |

I spent two hours at the Department of Human Services today - filling out paper work. They say my 1 year old needs developmental therapy and physical therapy. It's hard.... she is ahead on language skills and other skills, but because of a couple of things... *sigh*. No one should ever be told that your child could have a disability. This cuts deeper than the bad boy at 16 years old did. I just need to vent -so no need for the "it will get better", and "this is for the best" - I know it will/is. I just can't help but wonder if her birth (and lack of oxygen) has anything to do with this. |

Soft-soled summer shoes? Do soft-soled sandals exist? I've found Pedi-Peds, but I haven't seen them in real life. I know she could go barefoot, but that doesn't sound fun for hot concrete and such. The cheaper the better, but spam me with anything appropriate for a (hopefully) new walker! |
