"Art is never pure, we should keep it far away from the innocent ignorant. We should never let people approach. Yes, art is dangerous. If it is pure it is not art."

. the art of masochism . [Mar. 11th, 2006|12:14 am]
Whereas psychology considered masochism as a disease, pre-nineteenth century religion regarded it as a cure. The ancients were in touch with the spiritual, physical and emotional value of masochism. For them, it was an essential part of reality; a combination of the soul in a tortured state, rapturous delight, exquisite pain and unbearable passion that brought them closer to experiencing union with something greater than their individual egos.

Another similarity between masochism and mystical ecstasy is that both are motivated by the desire for oblivion and liberation; for getting rid of the burden of self with all its conflicts, burdens and limitations. In former, less secular times, this might be called a striving for mystical ecstasy in which the individual is so taken out of himself that his individual identity is extinguished in sublime union with something higher.

In submission, one is taken out of one's personal limitations and transcends social sanctions while at the same time being reduced, weakened and humiliated. With noses pressed against the ever-present reality of human suffering, it is both an agonizing defeat and a magnificent spiritual journey.

. at least she can still write . [Mar. 2nd, 2006|03:01 pm]

"I have forgotten how to interact with people. I'm sorry. I was literally dragged from my bed to see the sun. Necks are necks and scarves are scarves. And sometimes scarves are made just perfect for necks. But not now. You can't commit suicide when you're depressed. You can only do it when you're so truely happy, because only then will you base suicide on reasons outside of your (however warped) emotion. If I thought you need saving, I would save you. If I thought you needed me, I would show. But I think you need something else. A day free of scarves. A touch of sun. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me. You don't even need to ask. I'll accept a nod. I am working on talking myself. The dance back and forth. I forgot how to smile for a long time. I'll teach you when I'm sure."

. psychic conversations . [Nov. 10th, 2005|12:58 pm]
Pat Cox [the psychic] mentioned a point where I would have to make decisions on what to censor and what not to. Not because of sugar coating the truth, but because there would become too many people effected by me. I offered 75% of my paycheck to my friend in exchange for protection. I hate censoring what I say, but when legal matters become involved it's beyond my control. Pat told me not to go into government until I was ready. She said they drain you. I don't know what to do.

She said I would go into research fast. "You have to choose what you want to reclaim from your past and what you don't." She mentioned that there would be two people:

1) Protector (way out- expands) psychic ability
2) Unpronounceable name- (small compact/draws in)

. collection of old quotes . [Aug. 13th, 2005|04:32 pm]
"He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man."

"Hope is the most sensitive part of a poor wretch's soul; whoever raises it only to torment him is behaving like the executioners in Hell who, they say, incessantly renew old wounds and concentrate their attention on that area of it that is already lacerated."
Marquis de Sade

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't."
William Shakespeare

"There is no communication allowed inside here
Moments of time and internal suffering
are eternal constructed dances"

"Perception defines reality.
Perception is relative.
Reality is relative.
I am all of my perceptions and none of them.
The problem of defining reality is limiting it.
Therefore analyzing my reality is pointless and limiting.
Expression without analyzation is the key."

. tag . you're it . [Jul. 27th, 2005|02:25 am]

Before venturing into deep mines, miners in the 19th century lowered canaries into the mineshafts to determine whether potentially lethal gases (e.g., carbon monoxide and methane) had accumulated. Characterized as odorless, tasteless, and colorless, the build-up of such gases was often undetected. If the canaries died, the miners took this as a signal not to descend into the mine until the shaft was ventilated. Today, some animal and plant species, even entire ecosystems, are reacting to environmental stresses, serving as a similar early warning system.
